My favorite thing about Coursera is that the teachers are experts and know what they are talking about. This is not usually the case with other MOOCs. You might not learn as much information as you would like to because of this. That’s not a problem with Coursera, though, because all of the courses have expert teachers so you will learn everything that you need to know well.
4) Short Assignments and Lectures
Some of the courses on Coursera are short. The videos for the lectures and assignments are short, so you will be able to go through them quickly. Almost all video lectures are less than half an hour, so you can watch them in one sitting and then get on with your day.
5) Interactive Platform
I have taken classes on other courses before, and one thing I don’t like about them is that they are passive. You take the class on your own time and you can do it how you want. But sometimes this can be bad because then it’s easy to stop paying attention during the class when there’s no one watching. This is not a problem with Coursera though! They will be hard to do but also fun, because you can talk to people in the course and ask questions anytime you want. The discussion boards are not as good as they could be though.

Coursera is an online school that can help you get a better job. You could earn a certificate that proves you have learned something. A College might give you credit for the course if it’s part of a master’s degree or if it matches with what they teach. Coursera has many courses and more universities are joining, so there are more choices to find the best one for your needs.

1) Long application Process
To enroll for a Coursera course, you need to apply first. There is a waiting time before you can start the course. It is not as long as going to an university but it is still longer than enrolling in a normal course.
2) Not so great discussion boards
Most MOOCs offer discussion boards where learners can interact with each other and teachers. However, people have said that the discussion boards in Coursera courses are not very good. People say they have a better experience when they take a class that is longer (like a semester) or if it is shorter but has regular meetings with instructors.
You may not get feedback. You can upgrade and pay for graded assignment features, but sometimes you won’t be able to get them (at least not in-depth). The system is not really comprehensive, and you might not always receive the input you want about your assignments.

This company is an utter scam! We are a business client and we originally had plans for 1000 licenses. Due to Covid, our plans changed and we have sent numerous emails to get these licences frozen. But Coursera keeps loading us and will not speak to us about the problem. We are in the process of taking this legal as we believe we have been Mis-sold and lied to. Stay away from this company at all costs. We will be leaving reviews in all places possibly to ensure that people are aware of how crooked these guys are!

The one thing that I love about this website is the forum section where it allows me to interact with other people around the world doing the same class as myself or different because Coursera provides its services internationally to everyone interested in learning. They also allow us to share our ideas which enables us to improve our projects on what we do best which were not possible without them.

You do have access to certificate programs when you sign up but these don’t cost an arm and a leg so they’re no deterrent either!
There are a few things which I couldn’t have cared less about Coursera like

I finished a computer science course and received my certificate in less than 40 days. I was able to do the whole course by the platform on Coursera for free. It’s helped me tremendously with getting into college too because universities have taken note of how accessible this material is! This would be great especially if you want to learn something new or if you believe in lifelong learning – an attitude so many people lack these days!
I wish I could give zero stars to this just only cause of the awful customer service. I had a subscription for a very reasonable price which I couldn’t keep to use cause I failed to have the funds ready at the right time; even tho I contacted them 4 times about the matter and they assured me that the system would charge me before the date my account would expire it didn’t happen; they suggested to resubscribe at almost double the price. Contacted customer service for email and been dealing with 4 different people that couldn’t be bothered to read any of my emails where explained 4 times what was the matter. The courses may be good but man they have no clue of what customer service is!
Doesn’t work and NO REFUNDS
We have purchased ‘Create Your First Game with Python’ by Amit Yadav and it was malfunctioning right from the start with the ‘next’ button becoming disabled on and off for example and so on, the interface was not responding well, and it was Coursera only issue, all else was fine…there was really no support whatsoever, no way to get in touch with the tutor for example, and general forum will only take you so far with specific problems. Coursera does not issue refunds so I really don’t recommend it.
I actually liked some courses but Coursera is a subscription trap at its finest.
There are hidden fees and also very unclear communication on what is billed and how the subscription is managed in regards to courses and specialisations, etc.
I will not take another class there as I got billed for courses that were not very clear to me.

I find Coursera really convenient. the courses are free unless you want to get a certificate, which isn’t too expensive. The course schedules are flexible so I can take them even while working full time. The material is easy–I was able to learn things (especially math and science subjects) that I never would’ve managed on my own! A major plus: I feel like I belong at college with all the other people taking these courses with me.
I would give Coursera 5 stars. I feel so lucky to have found this awesome company to fill in my gaps! With all the variety of courses offered, I know that someone will be finding it convenient for them. Also, with no professors or annoying semesters, there’s always flexibility. The forums also help learners supplement their learning experience by interacting with people who are passionate about the same topic they love too!

I paid for the subscription to access labs and do the homework. I cancelled the subscription after completing the course, but the lab access was gone as well. Basically, the only way to download the lab notebooks is to pay another $49 for a course you already completed. The customer service chat was not helpful at all and was basically a robot.
The content of the course is good, but Coursera as a platform is a ripoff, and they try really hard to not provide customer service.
